Simona Bellini

Ceramics/Middle School Art

I was born in Sorengo in 1973. After studying at the CSIA and diploma in Arts, I then graduated in 2000 as a Psychomotor Therapist at the Institute of Psychomotor Anne Marie Wille in Milan. During the three-year period of training I worked as head of creative workshop at the ASIPA, Swiss Italian Association for the Problems of Autism, dealing with serious case studies of children and adults with autism, schizophrenia, epilepsy and Down syndrome.

Over the last ten years I have mainly concentrated on my work as a creative expressive sculptor-ceramist, exposing my work in Switzerland and abroad, and offering courses in this area for children, teenagers, adults and elderly people, in groups or individually, in private sense or through partnerships with elementary and secondary schools, as well as in foreign universities also including the Cal Poly University in San Luis Obispo, California with whom I work for the past sixt years as part of their Summer Camps on the Ticino landscape .

In recent years I started in my studio a path-expressive creative with kids with problems of toxic dependencies in the recovery phase.  I believe that the creative work helps people to channel their energies and tensions, promote concentration and calm, giving the opportunity to express feelings and moods in a visual and non-verbal, while also favoring the fine motor control.

Since 2013 I am part ofthe TASIS Faculty, as a Middle School art teacher.

I have two teenage children (17 and 15), and my home is often frequented by groups of young people, with whom I am happy to be able to share time and experiences. I am a very youth-oriented brand new, empathetic, dynamic and versatile, I like new challenges and new projects.
